Home / News / News / Digital Humanism: Nesite joins the DataSpace community

Nesite has joined the DataSpace community, the Italian platform created to make the digital infrastructure landscape more accessible, analysing and rethinking it in direct relation to the urban and social fabric. In a context where networks and servers influence the way we work, communicate and build new models of development, being part of DataSpace means consciously addressing the relationship between data, space and society.

What is DataSpace

DataSpace stems from an idea by architect Pietro Matteo Foglio of In-site, who specialises in data centre design: to create a forum for discussion capable of bringing together different skills, disciplines and perspectives around a theme that is increasingly central to our times.

The idea is as simple as it is ambitious: to place digital infrastructure within a broader framework of reflection that encompasses cities, communities, sustainability and development, moving beyond a purely technical view of the digital realm.

To achieve this, the platform is structured around two complementary dimensions:

// Hub, dedicated to raising awareness and reflecting on digital technology as an urban and social phenomenon

// Lab, a space for experimentation where research and design come together to develop models, case studies and concrete solutions.

The synergy with Nesite

For Nesite, joining DataSpace represents a natural step, allowing the development of solutions for technological environments to be integrated within a network that interprets digital technology as a cultural and territorial responsibility.

A concrete commitment based on the key points of the Community Manifesto:

// Beyond ‘isolated fortresses’: helping to conceive of data centres as the new civil architecture of our time, transforming them into open and transparent hubs of connection.

// Regeneration of places: embracing the philosophy that digital infrastructure should not merely mean land consumption, but an opportunity for local regeneration.

// Responsibility and Governance: supporting a transition in which energy, proximity, sustainability and access are treated as elements of a single, overarching issue.

Joining this ecosystem means taking part in a collective journey that focuses on the relationship between technological innovation and social value, contributing to the creation of a more conscious, open and human digital ecosystem.
